Women’s Empowerment Brunch

Creative direction and experiential design for an annual Women’s Empowerment Brunch held during Congressional Black Caucus Weekend.

The engagement focused on elevating the overall experience through a cohesive theme, visual identity, and immersive environment.

The event had an established format and returning venue.

The goal was to:

• Refresh the creative direction

• Introduce a stronger visual identity

• Create a more immersive, cohesive experience

All while maintaining alignment with a high-profile audience and existing event structure.

The concept “Still I Rise” was developed, inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem and the rooftop setting overlooking the DC waterfront.

This direction was translated into a visual system through a mood board, color palette, and experiential concept.

The palette, described as a jewel-toned sky, guided the overall look and feel and informed design decisions across all elements.

Creative direction extended across all aspects of the event experience, including:

• Event theme and visual concept

• Logo, invitation, and brand styling

• Environmental graphics and signage

• Photo installations and branded moments

• DJ booth, bar cart, and table elements

• Window decals and in-space messaging

• Swag bag sourcing, design, and assembly

The concept also influenced vendor execution, including decor, menu elements, and live performance.

The event delivered a cohesive and immersive experience with strong visual impact.

The refreshed creative direction successfully enhanced the overall perception and impact of the event.
